Bill Cosby’s daughter dies at age 44

Ensa Cosby, who was a staunch supporter and defender of her father Bill Cosby after accusations that he had sexually assaulted numerous women in the industry over the years, recently died in late February of 2018 from a chronic kidney ailment. She was 44-years-old at the time.

Ensa Cosby is the second-youngest of five children and the third of four daughters. She has kept a mostly low profile for most of her life but made headlines in May 2017. She, along with her older sister, Erinn, released a statement while on “The Breakfast Club”, an American syndicated radio show based in New York City, defending their father. They proclaimed that their father was innocent of the multiple allegations of rape thrown against him as he went to trial.

The elder Cosby, who is now 80-years-old, made a name for himself as the wise-cracking dad on “The Cosby Show,” which aired from 1984 to 1992. Following her daughter’s death, he has since appeared in a Pennsylvania court for a hearing on pretrial motions. He is set for a scheduled retrial on April 2.

Bill Cosby is currently facing charges of drugging and sexually assaulting a woman named Andrea Constand in 2004. Cosby’s lawyers claim that the sexual contact between them was consensual and not forced.

Constand is a former administrator of the women’s basketball team at Temple University, his alma mater. Dozens of women who Cosby has allegedly assaulted over the years have since come forward. However, the statute of limitation rules prevents him from going to trial other than for the allegations made against him by Ms. Constand.

Ensa Cosby is the second of Bill Cosby’s children to die. His only son, Ennis, was shot and killed in 1997 as he was changing a flat tire just off a Los Angeles freeway following a failed robbery attempt by a Ukrainian immigrant.
